To rid their world of a new kind of dark,
Three brave heroes did on a new journey embark,
The eldest loved knowledge, and he saved them from enmity,
For as he said, “There is no love lost when the world is in hostility,”
The youngest loved magic, so he saved them from illusions,
He used his power to draw the curtain, and rid them of their delusions,
The second eldest loved challenges, and she saved them from despair,
She fought all enemies, real and elusive, for she was a diamond in the rough, a beauty too rare,
And they were forever known as the mage’s counsel, the royal trinity,
However, their enemies did their rapport break, and they despaired in their unity,
She, the second eldest, one of beauty and power, was the first to leave,
She went off to vanquish her demons and did their intimate bond cleave,
Then urged by jealousy and wisdom, the eldest did take flight,
Leaving to rule over their kingdom as the lone king of plight,
Then left was the youngest, sorcerer supreme, all alone in a strange land,
As the newest of mind and open of thought, he alone could take a stand,
But what was he to do, simply a child in a chess game too hard to comprehend,
And he too, began to despair, and the darkness, delighted, flooded in, and thus their greatest heroes came to an end,
And many, many years later, when the three were together almost thrice a score aged,
When the land was ravaged, The heroes scattered and the fires raged,
Reunited were they once more, by just a misconception too grave,
And on that fateful day, sparks between them did fly: for they were meant to rule or raze,
Revelling in their unison, they once again were one,
But for the dangers that lurked beyond the deep, This ominous battle they had not yet won,
The eldest vanquished their fears, for he was gifted in terms of knowledge and sphere,
He fought the demons and left them but a speck in the universe, so mere,
The youngest saw beyond the Deep, and vanquished their visions,
They were finally in unison, and he created their realisations,
The second eldest solved riddles, and cured their complications,
She destroyed their power, burned down their conglomerations,
And thus the darkness, despairing, abandoned and took flight,
It was gone once again as the greatest heroes vanquished it into pure night.
