Presenting VALIDATION

I’m elated to share that the oft-teased collection, VALIDATION, is finally here! 15 weeks, and 150 days, after turning 15, I present 15 poems that represent moments in the past year where I’ve felt deep love, sorrow, grief or desire.

These poems truly reinforce the mantra of life’s lyrical irony. Such chaos and sleeplessness is best captured through emotive poetry, relatable for all, young or old. Closely related to its sister collection, Reputation, these poems aim to inspire thought, introspection, rebellion and intrinsic emotions.

Thus, here I present the track list for VALIDATION:

Welcome to the WONDER CAPSULE!

Dear readers,

It’s great to be writing on my blog again and I’m completely aware that I haven’t been posting new content in an incredibly long time. My exams, projects, and volunteer work has just been piling up but I promise a LOT of work from here on out.

On that note, I’m pleased to present to y’all the WONDER CAPSULE! Recently, I decided to conduct a writing workshop with SHISHU MANDIR and VIDYA SCHOOL, wherein I shared some of my own writing knowledge with the students through online meetings.

I am delighted to share with everyone the brilliant work of all of my new friends. I hope you give them the hope and encouragement they so rightly deserve for ALL of their effort. And lastly, I hope you enjoy reading their work as much as I did, and will continue to give them your support, just like you have been supporting me for all this time.

Yours,

Anvi 🙂

Coming Soon: QUEEN of the Bad Guys

Yes, I’m aware it’s been 2 weeks since I promised to deliver on my promise of ASTRONOMY Part I coming soon, and I assure you, it’s coming!

The poems for ASTRONOMY Part I are ALL WRITTEN, and I’m just waiting to unveil them for you. I was experimenting with writing today, and came up with this in honour of the first Monday in May.

In the meantime, enjoy this spoiler for a poem from VALIDATION, life is ironically lyrical, titled QUEEN of the Bad Guys (or simply, bad guy)

I didn’t choose this lifestyle, it came and chose me,
I was brought to a cave blindfolded, and two hours later I was the Queen,

Not everyone can pull of Taylor Swift Karma,
just like not everyone’s made to stomach Betrayal.

The second part of this poem will be called QUEEN of Betrayal. These poems are a part of the QUEEN series, first premiered in Reputation.

Until the next time I get inspired by something wild, beautiful and ethereal,
ANVI TUTEJA

Dear readers,

Dear readers,
I’m so pleased to post for you again! I’ve been soooo busy with finals, certification examinations and of course, the feeling of surrendering yourself to the unpredictability of the 10th-grade boards.

However, I would like to announce – Reputation has come to a close! With a tracklist of 15 poems and 1 Interlude, we’ve finally reached the end! Read more about Reputation here…

The next series whose tracklist I’ll be posting is the wandering poet. Secretly running alongside Reputation, these poems showcase poetry such as the real me, and writings on the wall. Read more about the wandering poet here…

Another series I’m pleased to announce the Part I of, is ASTRONOMY, it’s fate and we’re two worlds apart. This series is all about what introvertism means, how it feels when your best friend is on another planet, and how hard it hits to know that you have insecurity. Read more about ASTRONOMY here…

Another series that’s on the horizon is VALIDATION, life is ironically lyrical. I recently posted a snippet of it’s first poem – Falling – as coming soon. I assure you, it’s coming, but maybe not so soon. Read more about VALIDATION here…

So, dear readers, the setlist for Anvi’s Thoughts Caught is full, and I can’t wait for these months to fly by and these poems to astonish you.

Until the next time I get inspired by something wild, beautiful and ethereal,

Coming Soon: Falling

Coming Soon: Falling, the first in the latest collection by Anvi Tuteja – Validation, life is ironically lyrical.

The world tells me, I picked my poison and it’s you,
And yet I never even knew what I was being thrown into.

Rewind: Evly, The Evil Queen

Readers, do you remember Evly, The Evil Queen? Featured in Reputation, this acclaimed poem represents a person who has been misunderstood their entire life, through the fictional story of a Queen being denied not only her birthright but also her right to herself.
In a male-dominated society, a woman, especially a Queen, is expected to maintain some degree of conformity and bow down to her male counterparts, or else she is declared “clinically” insane (as shown in writings on the wall with the semblance of the yellow wallpaper), denied a right to exist as she likes (SADIST), or declared “EVIL” and chased with pitchforks and proofs (Evly, The Evil Queen).
Thus, Evly embraces her dark side and becomes the so-called “Evil Queen,” and even at her end, is content with becoming a symbol not of war, but of peace, as she leaves behind her memoirs, self-aware after having spent a lifetime begging for footnotes in the stories of other’s lives.

People tend to be creative,
When they’re condemning others

Go check out Evly, The Evil Queen now on Anvi’s Thoughts Caught, and read more such poems in Incandescence, the debut novel of Anvi Tuteja.

Incandescence is an anthology of poems that brings a fresh and new perspective to the realm of poetry. Incandescence symbolizes struggle and more importantly, overcoming that struggle to transcend barriers to become something truly incandescent. Read more at https://anvituteja.com/incandescence/.

I was the bond, the glue, the solvent that saved the kingdom,
And because I wanted more, I was no longer Daddy’s Good Little Girl,
And they said, I killed the King, but I just wanted my very own Queendom.

And I’d say it was pure fiction, and it is (but only barely.)
Also, maybe a bit different than my other poetry in wandering poet or the real me, but is actually fresh writing (and promises hope for the future, perhaps something like illusion or optional nostalgia), unlike Transcript, which spent three months in my drafts before I felt I could publish it.)
