QUEEN of the bad guys

Presenting the latest poem from VALIDATION, life is lyrical irony:

Read QUEEN of the bad guys now, at Anvi’s Thoughts Caught

I don’t want to be the bad guy,
I don’t want to end no careers,

I just don’t want to run, run, run away,
From all my problems, and the so-called hatred,

I didn’t want to have to be the only one,
Who told you the truth to your face,

I didn’t have to stay up late,
Helping them through counseling and trauma,

I don’t do anything I’m not proud of,
I don’t do much to blame the other,

But stop trying to assume I’m the one
who’ll take it quietly, lying down to your symphony,

If you make me the demon, then that’s who
you will find, and if you make me the angel, then well

we wouldn’t be here, then, would we?
But I’m standing at the edge of the ocean

waiting to hear an apology, waiting to see
your memories, waiting to talk this out, like adults,

But then you went ahead and made me the bad guy,
So don’t blame me for the
slip of the knife,
curve of the blade,
tumbling glass of poison,

Because you made a choice and now, you’re lying in it,
Lie, Lie, Lie to Me; Lie, Lie, Lie in this Mess you Made,

I didn’t choose this lifestyle, it came and chose me,
I was brought to a cave blindfolded, and two hours later I was the Queen,

Not everyone can pull off Taylor Swift Karma,
just like not everyone’s made to stomach Betrayal.

born beautifully

Presenting the latest poem from VALIDATION, life is lyrical irony:

Read born beautifully now, at Anvi’s Thoughts Caught

Searching, Dreaming, Seeking – Incessantly
I, weary traveller, have spent many a forlorn night, searching, dreaming, seeking, oh, incessantly –
For a place to set down my load, a place to one-day call home, and perhaps, a place to find solace from these tethers of humanity,

Yet as I travel, I am amazed – as I find myself again, and again, and yet again – could this be reality?
I find myself asking, repeatedly, as I’m struck dumb by this wonder, beauty and enigma – what is this world’s curious duality?

As the centuries go by, and humanity grows ever closer – my soul flits through the sleek minarets and columns of Chichen-Itza,
While I traverse the mahals and mandirs of India, I wander also through the mystical El Dorado, and Egypt’s Pyramids of Giza,

And you may ask why? Why do I live the life of a nomad, a recluse, a risk-taker? And to me, there was only ever one path, you see –
These challenging, new, engaging surroundings – which shove me out of my comfort zone – keep me alive, for each day alive is a dream,

Life is a gift, and is meant to be treasured – why, each day, I meet more and more people who no longer remain strangers,
And sharing these experiences, these lessons which only life can teach, is my purpose here on this Earth, being nature’s messenger,

As I see, touch, taste and hear the wonders of our planet – it makes me wonder how much longer we have before it’s irreparably damaged,
But that’s a thought for another day, another day to learn more about beautiful cultures, to mingle with different ideas, to truly appreciate our diverse advantage,

For when I travel, I’m truly free – free with my brothers and sisters and others – to revel in our shared heritage, to celebrate our fine communities,
Because this global village, this oasis of ours, is meant to promote culture, coexistence and harmony, and a safe future for our progeny, bringing us all closer together, thanks to our humanity,

And as I close my eyes, I see myself to be Fa-Hien, travelling, writing, recording, the city-states and kingdoms of China and India,
And I dream, I dream, perchance to see, the journeys of Vasco da Gama, sailing breezily by, the Cape of Good Hope in Africa,

And of Africa, oh – What more is there to say? The birthplace of humanity – Call it exploration then, adventure even, tourism now,
We travelled, we scattered, we went all over – it’s our undeniable, call it inevitable, nature to roam around, well, I’ll explain how –

No longer bound by the boundaries we ourselves had made, never restricted by the barriers of terrain, comfort or hospitality,
Our drive to know more, to explore, to furnish our curiosity, to gain more and more knowledge – and to look beyond, to unite us all – it’s food for our soul, our innate universal quality,

No virus, no lockdowns, indeed, no, distancing could take that away – have you ever thought to wonder why stay-at-home ever hurt so much?
It’s because it violates our need, our desires to intermingle together – it restricts our capabilities to know more about each other – it’s because we are creatures of habit and, travel, our crutch,

Because the world is filled, with all kinds of races – people from all religions, cultures, castes, and graces, yet this I know with surety:
Whether it be the plans we make, the food we eat, or the clothes we wear, this Global world to Global village, our unique celebration of cultures, is proof that beauty is unity in diversity.

why?
why not?
small smile,
just barely caught,

every morning,
i wake,
pulled out of a dream,
of your face,

it drives me crazy,
demise of my mind,
another hallucination,
my name i signed,

does the universe
want this to happen?
are you giving me a sign?
of something about to happen?

valid nor sound,
i can’t say this with surety,
are you a dream,
or a mockery of my greatest parody?

Read immovable now, at Anvi’s Thoughts Caught

moving, or immovable?
still, or lost in the silence of stillness?
uncaring, or willful ignorance?
lost of persistent negligence?

moving not immovable;
falling raindrops, and blaring traffic lights,
symphony of soundless chaos, hands stuffed in worn-down pockets,
heavy breaths, warm coffee (yet it’s cold) and all I get is indignant looks…

moving still immovable,
pleas falling on silent ears, headphones on, headstrong in a maze of cars,
swift steps, seemingly soft on the pavement – the fear of being carried off into some guy’s basement,
pulling the jacket sides closer, staring up at the graying sky, scurrying faster.

Peace No Longer Far Apart

Presenting the latest poem from VALIDATION, life is lyrical irony:

Read Peace No Longer Far Apart now, at Anvi’s Thoughts Caught

(TW: IMPLIED SUICIDE)

i’m in Arizona, dreaming about who I used to be,

lonely dreamer; searching for something worth fighting for; in this economy,

depressing feelings; urging me to go yell at the world; demanding to be heard, to have a vote,

climactic moments; standing here at the cliff; hoping to hear the ‘don’t’ and the rights returned,

plunging heat; crushing my soul and giving me more reasons why; not solutions in sight,

impatient headstrong; beautiful visions pulling me to the edge; world without boundaries; love is just you (all) and me,

anxious tears; falling wind; life monitor flatlines; wishing for better healthcare; heart rate falls,

smiling face; crushed body; hands folded in a heart; gone to the world – Peace No Longer Far Apart.

Don’t Tell Yourself You’ll Stay For The Kids

Presenting the latest poem from VALIDATION, life is lyrical irony:

Read Don’t Tell Yourself You’ll Stay For The Kids now, at Anvi’s Thoughts Caught

Don’t tell yourself you’ll stay for the kids,
It’ll only make them hate every single day until then,
Don’t tell yourself it is how it is,
It’ll only make you hate what was once true.

(I promise you, I won’t say: Mommy, why can’t Daddy stay?
I wish I could tell you: Maybe the day we move out should be today.)

I dream at night, how different it would be,
Would we still see each other’s families?
What would your parents say? What would my sister do?
Would they pity me for you leaving? Even when I pity you.

(Sometimes I think to myself: God, just get separated already!
It’s clear, even to me, that this lie that’s your life, isn’t steady.)

I wonder how our daughter would react,
If I told her we should go out and see the world,
Have we not moved on? Have we moved beyond? Have we yet moved out?
Do you think she knows who’s pulling the strings? Do you think she still has doubts?

(My mother thinks I don’t know; but I’m falling down; that I’m playing dumb,
The truth of the matter is, I don’t want to see the world, ‘cause I’m still feeling numb.)

I think it’s time to leave, yes, darling, let’s flee,
He doesn’t care a damn; what I do with my tomorrows,
Maybe I could be Scarlett, and she, Kat; Maybe I could be Lorelai, and she, Rory,
I know this is hurting her, and she’s feeling tired – but maybe we could together get over sorrows.

Lodestar Ray

Presenting the latest poem from VALIDATION, life is lyrical irony:

Read Lodestar Ray now, at Anvi’s Thoughts Caught

Lodestar* Ray

Life is a journey, people and places meandering to the soul’s destiny,
What good is the adventure, without a navigator to secure your legacy?
Education, a mighty tool, the pinnacle to the veiled success story,
Quality follows, unable to resist the steppingstone to greater glory,

In the land of lush valleys, a time not different from our own,
Uncaring of challenges Cruel Fate sets in the unknown,
A daring, young soul first graces his home, yearning for wonder and wisdom,
Barely seven, in the village school, the epitome of a failing education system,

Acceptance of failure was rather freeing, divulging the opportunity of a revolution,
No Rote Learning!” he vowed, a mere boy of fifteen, searching for learnings’ new resolution,
Remaking reality through concepts, productivity, sustainability and contribution, challenging every trope,
Intent to change a society set in stone – Never renouncing his undying hope,

‘Progress over Perfection,” his motto, weighing every decision with this immortal precedent,
An outlier shunned for fear of development, now the country’s greatest resident,
New ways, vocational paths, success stories for every child to dream, to desire,
With the vow of together, qualitative regrowth, lighting insurgent fires,

He changed the world, that very moment of making a difference,
Choosing his words with care, quality in every emotive sentence,
Speaking of newfound prosperity, eradicating ignorance and poverty,
Education, his guiding light, innovation and quality, his novelty,

Returning to where his journey began, his mission statement writ in stone,
“Quality is not accidental, ‘tis the result of educated effort, accomplished never alone,
Not an ever-fixed mark or universal standard, but responsibility that grows each day,
Education highlights your path, should you choose to be the new Lodestar Ray. “

* A Lodestar is a star that is used to guide the course of a ship, especially the Pole Star.

Falling

Presenting the first poem from VALIDATION, life is lyrical irony:

Read Falling now, at Anvi’s Thoughts Caught

‘falling and failing i can’t keep them apart,
my head is shaking and breaking, and i don’t know where to start,
how can it fall down, because it’s always been there,
how dare you leave me, just like these memories, oh too rare,’

Sometimes I feel like I’m all up in my head,
“I’m denied all these rights!” is what the old me said,
The new one wonders if she/me ever had them to begin with,

‘Cause I’ve never met a bridge I couldn’t burn,
Never seen a rabbit hole I didn’t fall down into,
Never heard another curse, thrown at me by this cruel world,
And yet I’ve never known that fate’s spurn, the world’s scorn, that sent you (to me),

I look up to see the sea of stars,
And it hasn’t changed, not even since all these wars began,
But now I kind of wish it had,
Because at least someone would have been kind enough to show me their path,

The world tells me – I picked my poison and it’s you,
And yet I never even knew what I was being thrown into,
I’m always the angel, I’m always the devil, why don’t you all decide and let me know?
So, at least, I can finally know what I’m fighting for!
